On the eve of Prospect.1*, Prospect Everyone was the premier event curated by Shoot the Messenger Productions, a collaborative cooperative of the creative powers of Zack Smith, noted New Orleans photographer and musician, and Miranda Lake, local painter recently named one of the Top Ten Artists in New Orleans by Art Voices Magazine. Julia Street became home to Stilt Walkers, Roller Girls and music. Ernie K. Doe sat high on his throne and the baby dolls were seen mingling with the crowd while security was provided by the International Art Police. Hundreds of acorns were rolled into a mix of soil and wildflower seeds to be planted through out the city. There were secondlines and live performances. The Art was made and shared in the streets by both participators and attendees.
Prospect.1 New Orleans [P.1], the largest biennial of international contemporary art ever organized in the United States, opened to the public on November 1, 2008 in museums, historic buildings, and found sites throughout New Orleans.
