Ladies in Red supports the Preservation
Resource Center’s
African American Heritage Preservation program (AAHP), which focuses on
identifying and preserving the homes and cultural legacy of New Orleans’ jazz musicians. Ladies in Red proceeds provide funds toward heritage
education for elementary school children, community-enrichment events for the
general public, historic research of jazz musicians, and the production and
installation of historic plaques on the former homes of jazz musicians and
legends. These efforts all increase community appreciation and involvement in
order to protect, rebuild and revitalize the neighborhoods and culture of New Orleans.
June 10, 7pm, Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins Drive.
