In “The Coming Waters” (News & Views, May 10) we reported that BP made a $1 billion down payment toward its Clean Water Act fine, and that impacted states will receive $100,000 each. We should have said BP put up a $1 billion down payment toward the restoration of natural resources injured as a result of the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster, and the process will begin with each state receiving an equal allotment of $100 million.…
