I spent the weekend back at home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, doing the Our Lady of Fatima Spring Festival in Biloxi. I couldn’t have asked for better weather, and it was also a nice chance to hang out with my mom. Plus my bestie, Ashe, came over on Saturday and we got the chance to hang out and eat too much carnival food!
I thought the Southwest Pepper Grillers were super cool – if only I liked peppers, stuffed or otherwise! But as I discovered, you can do more with these cool creations than just make stuffed peppers on the grill or in the oven. On their website you can find other recipes for fingerling potatoes, strawberry shooters, tortilla rolls, brownies baked into waffle cones, and more! They do all of the designing and creation of these grillers themselves, with the help of a super snazzy cutting machine. The Amazing Plant Stands were also pretty cool – great for stacking lots of potted plants in a small area (hello, green thumbed apartment dwellers!), but they can also be used for stacking storage containers and more.
These guys travel to events all over the country (they told me they’d just been at the craft show in Canton, MS the day before!) but you can also find their goodies on their respective websites and give them a call to order and have one shipped!
This coming weekend, I’ll be here at home, doing one of my favorite events of the year, Bayou Boogaloo! It takes place May 20-22 on the banks of Bayou St. John here in New Orleans. (The artists area will just be open Saturday and Sunday, but there will be free music and good stuff to eat all three days.)
Oh! And if you haven’t already filled out my 2011 customer survey, don’t forget – there’s just a few more days to do so – Friday May 20th is the deadline! It’s very short, your answers will help me a LOT, and one person who fills it out will be randomly chosen to win a $50 gift certificate to my online shop!
