Neighborhood Story Project's Fourth Annual Write-a-thon

Arts & Entertainment, City Life

May 31st, 2012

Neighborhood Story Project on Firstgiving

Year Four! The Write-a-thon is now a classic! The recipe: Writers (amateur and pro) coming together to enjoy food from the Joint and Cake Cafe- writing and kibitzing- and raising the money necessary to help the NSP continue its mission: Our Stories Told By Us.

For eight years the NSP has been at the work of community based documentaries- Collaborative Ethnography, Oral Histories, Creative Nonfiction, Photography, Poster making. More than twenty books later- it has created some of the most loved documents about the greatest city in the country.

The Write-a-thon has been the backbone of the NSP’s funding- and we are grateful for all of the love and support we get- from the Joint, the Cake Cafe, and most importantly, from our fellow write-a-thoners and those who give to them every year.
