Garden Jihad

The weather is wonderful so I went wild today in the garden. Destroyed some banana trees that will be 3 feet tall by tomorrow morning again. Cut a passage way from one side of my backyard to the other through trumpet plants and jasmin. And I pulled tree sized weeds.
But the real challenge was the thorny weed boganvias. They are as resilient as Muhammad Omar. I cut them back and they find a way to come back in stronger numbers. I took them out and have the scars to prove it.
Who would have thought gardening would be so cathartic?
* I also found time to read the NYTimes on the balcony.
