Xavier to play host to mayoral debate

Xavier University said it will play host to a mayoral debate Dec. 15, four days after qualifying for the race ends.
The event will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. in Xavier’s Center Ballroom.
All candidates who qualified by Dec. 11 will be invited to participate.
Ten nonprofits are sponsoring the debate and will submit
questions for candidates: GNO Section of the National Council of Jewish
Women, League of Women Voters Education Fund, Urban League of Greater
New Orleans, Committee for a Better New Orleans/Metropolitan Area
Committee,
Young Leadership Council, Common Good, EngageNOLA,
Pontchartrain Chapter of the Links Inc., National Coalition of 100
Black Women-GNO Chapter and Junior League of New Orleans.
WDSU-TV anchor Norman Robinson will moderate the forum, which will be broadcast live on WDSU and 89.9 FM.•
