John Georges' response to Mitchthemayor.com

Politics

December 18th, 2009  6 Comments

The physical address associated with the Mitchthemayor.com parody website, is the same address as IOKON the same media company that is hosting the John Georges’ campaign’s website. Last night at the EngageNola meet the candidate series, George’s was asked if he or his campaign was associated with the website. His denials were videotaped for posterity.

People: John Georges

Topics: The Mayoral Race

Having to answer a question with that kind of slip-knotted lead in is one reason I am so glad I am not a politician

Slip-knot? Huh? The fact of the matter is every election in the last 50 years has been riddled with anonymous pamphleteering, back alley cash grabs, and disinformation. You know why so many politicians when asked about education say "well education isn't really in the purview of the mayor?" Because misleading an ignorant electorate is the name of the game. If you send a letter saying Sidney thinks he's white, there is a damn good chance half the people who read that will think he is. If you put a candidate on the ballot with the same name as another candidate in this town, there is a damn good chance people will vote for the wrong person. And if you put a site out there that slams one candidate while implicating another there is an equally good chance, especially if you're smarter than IOKON, that you will distract the electorate away from the real questions in this election. Namely educating our youth, insuring we don't raise yet another generation of kids who can't solve problems or read a contract. So, while you may think that the question is slip-knotted, the rest of us would rather catch a rat in a cage than be fooled again by 'political gamesmanship.' There are really only three possibilities. 1) Either someone is guilty of fraud by paying for a domain name at an inaccurate address, 2) that IOKON thinking they were acting in the best interest of their client and as a rogue entity in posted the site, or 3) the same man who may have offered Cheron Brylski 25K to sit out the race, and/or is allegedly bankrolling the mayoral run of Judge Nadine Ramsey, actually thought he would get away with this pathetic attempt at distracting the electorate. Either way it doesn't seem to me that this guy could manage his way out of a wet paper bag, let alone a natural disaster or the recovery from one.

he is boring. Maybe a good business man, but a leader? I don't think so.

Hmmmm, Shactus, The only attitude I find tiring is the one that says all politicians are guilty until proven innocent. Mudslinging is a part of the political game. Its up to the electorate to distinguish the truth from the rubbish.

"Some people will do anything to get publicity, including myself."
    - John Georges (skip to 4 minutes and 12 seconds)

    What does that mean?

It means just what it means. He has no filter which I like. But the crap that comes out of his filterless mouth is . . well . . . crap.
